Encouraging Kind Minds & Cultivating Future Leaders and Heroes for Animals
The Festival furthers the humane education efforts of the Nevada SPCA to reach people of all ages with messages of compassion and respect for animals. The Festival ambitiously strives to help cultivate future leaders and heroes for animals.
This one-of-a-kind event allows local children, teenagers, and adults to earn Animal Hero Badges for participating in free, fun, and educational activities that will help them better understand and appreciate animals and their needs. The badges are intended to recognize their enthusiasm for making the world a kinder place for all animals, as well as to encourage their future determination to help community animals, whether in their own homes or neighborhoods, or those who are in need of rescue and rehabilitation.
"The Festival is a landmark event because it challenges children and adults to improve animals' lives," Doug Duke, Executive Director of Nevada SPCA. "It has enormous potential to empower people of all ages to save lives, through fun activities and positive encouragement, rather than preaching or fear tactics or hysteria. We are honored that the Festival organizers were inspired by our humane education efforts and are helping us make a quantum leap in these efforts locally."
